Summary: Refreshing the configuration doesn't work correctly

Initial Comment:
We use Net-SNMP v. 5.4.1 compiled for AIX 5.3 using these configure directives:

./configure --disable-shared --disable-embedded-perl --without-kmem-usage \
--with-default-snmp-version="1" --with-sys-contact="postmaster@rwe-services.cz" \
--with-sys-location="CDC Brno" --with-logfile="/var/log/snmpd.log" \
--with-persistent-directory="/var/net-snmp"

We encountered problem when trying to refresh the configuration file using the kill \
-HUP or snmpset method. We have 2 exec stanzas in configuration file that are not \
refreshed but only added to the MIB table. So after few refreshes it looks like this:

UCD-SNMP-MIB::extIndex.1 = INTEGER: 1
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extIndex.2 = INTEGER: 2
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extIndex.3 = INTEGER: 3
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extIndex.4 = INTEGER: 4
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extIndex.5 = INTEGER: 5
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extNames.1 = STRING: check_lv
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extNames.2 = STRING: check_backup
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extNames.3 = STRING: check_lv

UCD-SNMP-MIB::extCommand.4 = STRING: /rwe/scripts/check_lv.sh

UCD-SNMP-MIB::extResult.3 = INTEGER: 0
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extResult.4 = INTEGER: 0
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extResult.5 = INTEGER: 0
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extOutput.1 = STRING: 0
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extOutput.2 = STRING: BACKUP OK - Return code is: 0
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extOutput.3 = STRING: 0
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extOutput.4 = STRING: 0
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extOutput.5 = STRING: BACKUP OK - Return code is: 0
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extErrFix.1 = INTEGER: noError(0)
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extErrFix.2 = INTEGER: noError(0)
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extErrFix.3 = INTEGER: noError(0)
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extErrFix.4 = INTEGER: noError(0)
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extErrFix.5 = INTEGER: noError(0)
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extErrFixCmd.1 = STRING:
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extErrFixCmd.2 = STRING:
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extErrFixCmd.3 = STRING:
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extErrFixCmd.4 = STRING:
UCD-SNMP-MIB::extErrFixCmd.5 = STRING:

As you can see the MIBs are only added to the tree and not removed when refreshing \
the configuration, is this a feature or a bug? Please respond to juraj.bocinec@rwe.cz \
and thanks for reply in advance.

Greetings, just tested this behaviour with Net-SNMP 5.4.2 and it's the same
issue.

Please post your exact snmpd.conf content. Also, can you please retest with
5.4.2 and report back?
