Summary: IPv6 cannot be enabled on HP-UX11.23 and Solaris9

Initial Comment:
I'm trying to configure net-snmp with --enable-ipv6 on
HP-UX11.23 and Solaris9. Both shows no "TCPIPv6
UDPIPv6" in the result:

configure:12258: checking ipv6 stack type

configure:12432: result: "unknown, no" <== it seems

To guess the IPv6 stack type, it looks net-snmp
"configure" checks specific macros in the header files
(if any) and chooses one of these types: v6d toshiba
kame inria zeta linux-glibc linux-inet6. And none of
them can be applied for HP-UX11.23 and Solaris9. Any idea?

Does it work now in MAIN? I've ben confirmed that the IPv6
transport code at least now compiles on Solaris. The old
IPv6 MIBs are unlikely to get ported, so I suggest you try
net-snmp 5.4.pre1 (or later) with the new unified IP MIBs
("./configure --with-mib-modules=ip-mib").

It's a bug which needs to be addressed. Please try a CVS
MAIN snapshot from http://www.net-snmp.org/nightly/tarballs/
which should allow you to build with ./configure
--enable-ipv6 --with-out-mib-modules=mibII/ipv6 ...

If builds, but still doesn't work, then I'm sorry to say
that you'll probably need to fire up a debugger and step
through snmplib/snmpUDPIPv6Domain.c to find out where/why it
breaks. I don't have access to an IPv6-enabled Solaris/HP
machine to assist.
