Summary: snmpwalk times out, system load increases
Initial Comment:
I am using the pre-compiled binaries for Solaris 8 on
sun4u hardware (actual kit is Blade 1000).
snmpwalk -v2c -c public localhost starts to work but
then fails. The last few lines of output are:
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageIndex.1 = INTEGER: 1
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageIndex.2 = INTEGER: 2
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageIndex.3 = INTEGER: 3
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageIndex.4 = INTEGER: 4
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageIndex.5 = INTEGER: 5
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageIndex.6 = INTEGER: 6
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageIndex.7 = INTEGER: 7
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageIndex.8 = INTEGER: 8
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageIndex.9 = INTEGER: 9
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageIndex.10 = INTEGER:
10
Timeout: No Response from localhost
The system load then increases. uptime showed it was
at about 24 a minute after snmpwalk failed. Rerunning
snmpwalk fails and snmpd needs to be restarted to both
decrease the system load and make snmpwalk work
again.

Can you please retry with 5.3.1.rc1 or later?
As for the "no storage for OID" issue: what net-snmp version
do you get this with? The message itself comes from a failed
malloc() call -- has this box perhaps been short on memory?

I'm also having this on a sparc64 (enterprise 250) with
freebsd 6.X.
For me this is combined with an "no storage for OID" message
in the snmpd.log

I am also getting this on a Solaris 2.6 x86 box using
net-snmp 5.0.8.
Is there a work-around for this?
