I've downloaded several times and have problems 
decompressing it.

5.0.5 was replaced by 5.0.6, so you might get that instead.  
My guess is that you accidentially got the wrong tar ball 
(maybe the md5 sum instead).  Anyway, try the 5.0.6 release.
