Summary: mib2c does not work on IF-MIB.txt
Initial Comment:
Trying to run mib2c on the OID ifMIB does not work
properly. The problems seems to be the AUGMENT
clause that is used to modify the table. Is there
something I can do to get around this problem
(besides modifying a standard MIB)?
I've created a modified configuration file for the
mib2c compiler, and am using the
@foreach $i table@
@foreach $j index@
$j
@end@
@end@
This causes a problem because in the MIB file the
definition of (ifxTable particularly) is defined to
AUGMENTS ifTable (i.e. Adding more columns to
the ifTable). However, when using hte AUGMENT
clause there is no INDEX clause, and thus when the
mib2c comiler gets to this it has problems.
I was wondering if this is being looked at or not?
And if not, can you please point me in the direction
so that I can look at the code that might be having
the problem (i.e. where the SNMP perl module
parses the MIB and handles the INDEX/AUGMENTS
clauses.
Thanks
Ken
