I have released Nessus 0.99.10 which should be the last release
of the 0.99.x cycle. The next release should start the 1.0.0preN cycle.

Once again, if you want to see a feature added or an annoyance removed,
please drop a mail to bugs@cvs.nessus.org

Here is the ChangeLog of Nessus 0.99.10 :

nessusd :

- fixed a problem which could make the client see what was
happening a few seconds later the event happened. (this was occuring
when doing few tests against a great number of hosts)

- nessusd.conf goes back to ${sysconfdir}/nessus/ (and not ${sysconfdir}/)

- CPU usage : dropped from 100% to much fewer [thanks to Ryan Mooney
  (ryanm@mhpcc.edu) who pointed this out]

- the target file may have an unlimited size (it was cut down to 2047
bytes in the past) [many thanks to Boris Wesslowski
  (Boris.Wesslowski@RUS.Uni-Stuttgart.DE) for pointing this out]

Nessus (client) :

- polished the GUI somehow

- GTK 1.0 compatible (Eduardo Urrea (eduardou@hispasecurity.com))

- All the port scanners are deactivated by default, except nmap
(the use of Nmap 2.3BetaX is recommanded)

NASL :

- fixed a bug in recv() which would make nasl crash when reading data
  from a non-socket

- close the sockets opened by a script in nasl_exit() (mainly useful
when using the 'nasl' standalone interpretor)

- fixed a bug in egrep()

- init_telnet() behaves well against a tcp-wrapped telnet

Plugins :

nmap_wrapper : can use nmap's ping and checks for nmap in the $PATH

accounts.nes : more checks for RootKits et al. [thanks to Michel Kempf
(maxx@via.ecp.fr)]

plus the addition of new security checks.
