All,

I'm using KDE 4.8.2 and I've made Nepomuk almost unusable with NFS. Here's
how.

I originally had Pictures, Videos and Music in my home directory as symlinks
to those files on a USB drive. I let Nepomuk index all of them. Everything
worked beautifully.

I then removed the hard drive and plugged it into my another machine (my
router running ddwrt with unfsd) and exported those three directories using
NFS. I resymlinked my /home/nkgoodall/Pictures etc. to the NFS mount.

Now Nepomuk wants to re-index this data and it is very slow. To the point of
making Plasma almost unworkable.

I've gone into the settings and turned off indexing for removable media. I've
also excluded those three directories under advanced settings. However, each
time I turn on the file indexer it runs straight to those directories and
everything grinds to a (very slow) churn.

What should I do?

Thanks,

Nate
