The ncurses on that system is lacking (or not exporting) set_escdelay.
Version 5.7 or newer of ncurses should have it -- older versions too,
probably, but I don't know.  Most likely the ncurses on your Centos
system is configured to not export set_escdelay.

(The other thing is just a warning, and will be fixed some day.)

Anyway, it should be possible to compile nano with just about any gcc.
