Agreed! The way to make life easier is to make the software enforce the
rules, so that the admins don't have to worry about it. Granted, the rules
themselves can be wrong--but in that case, you change the rules and then
start enforcing them.

You might want to read more carefully: Dan's definition of
"semi-synchronization" was (purposely) designed to include
synchronization as a special case.
