This bug:

which was causing MariaDB 10.4 to crash when used with MythTV has now
been fixed as of MariaDB 10.4.14.  So as long as your distro has
MariaDB 10.4.14 or 10.5, it is safe to upgrade to those versions from
10.3 or below.
