The final touch to my new mythbuntu frontend was keeping the X session
going after I turned my TV off. Turns out this is a well known bug.
xfsettingsd that ships with mythbuntu has a regression bug in it:
https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11107
The two best workarounds currently are to either put "killall
xfsettingsd" in the /etc/mythtv/session-settings file or to downgrade
the xfce-settings package to the one from 13.10. I chose the former
since it was pretty straight forward and is a conf file change over a
strange package change. YMMV.
Thought I would report this to the list so I had more links for google
to rank it and so that anyone searching this list might stumble onto
the solution quicker.
Thanks
E
