DVB tuners don't encode the signal received, they simply pick put the 
requested stream and deliver it. What end up in the file on disk is 
whatever the broadcaster sent (barring transmission errors) and is 
unaffected by your choice of tuner etc.

This is different to analogue tuners/encoders, or video 
grabber/encoders which do take a signal and encode it (usually using 
configurable parameters).
