I'm not sure what Harmony people were talking about, but some are very
expensive. I suppose I should ask where you get a $30 Harmony 550. :)
Newegg.com sells it for ~$90 and I don't see it much below that (still
$75 + S&H at some random unknown website, $70ish or more on Ebay).
Without knowing what Harmony people are talking about, they seem to
range from $90 for the 550 to $420 for the 1000 (ok so that one has a
touch screen and looks cool, but there are still $230 and $330 Harmony
remotes).

My $10 URC-6131n can be programed with pretty much any code, and has
complete control/flexibility on button assignment. I can also set a
button to a macro to turn off multiple devices, etc. I have my remote
and its setup saved to my own computer. If my 2 year old kills it I can
replace it with another $10 one and have it set up the same with almost
no work. :)

I'm not saying the Harmony remotes are not cool, they look very nice. I
am sure they might be much easier to set up. A cheap JP1 can do lots of
the same stuff though, as long and you are willing to work on it.
