You can find an open source ssh client at http://www.openssh.org/, and a
commercial ssh client at http://www.ssh.com/. With this, you can get an
encrypted TCP/IP connection between a MySQL server and a MySQL client.
Read the documentation of MySQL for more details.

Roji.

Subject: MySQL with ODBC over SSL

Hi!

Is it possible to use ODBC-interface through SSL-connection? Both the MySQL
client(ODBC) and server are going to be on Windows 2000 platform. I have no
MySQL client nor server installed yet. I will install a version which
supports this kind of action by your answers. So if this SSL/ODBC-conection
is supported in which version? Is there any help or tutorial on this?

Thank you in advance,
      Jouni Kylä-Nikkilä
