Version 0.03 of Java2MySQL has been released. This is alpha-grade
software and should not be used if you have any worries about losing
data.

Java2MySQL is a type-2 JDBC driver. Type 2 drivers use a native API to
communicate with a database system. Java native methods are used to
invoke the API functions that perform database operations.

Java2MySQL provides wrappers for most of the MySQL C API method calls:

This release also starts to implement JDBC (Driver, Connection,
Statement, and ResultSet). Note that PreparedStatement and many other
JDBC interfaces are not yet implemented.

Currently, the driver is only available for the Linux x86 platform. If
you have either success or failure compiling the CVS source on Windows,
Solaris or BSD, please let me know.
