Hello, I've read in this email list that it is possible to run more then
one mysql server at the same time as long as they all have a different
.pid file.

I'd like to give some people access to my system and to each have their
own mysql server daemon. Each would run as a different user and access a
different disk partition. This way none of the users will be able to
access other users databases.

Are there any drawbacks or other issues that would arise from doing
this?

How about the number of connections? Will they each have the same limits
or will they all share the max# of connections?

Finally if one mysql daemon were to hang, would the others continue to
operate normally?

Thanks
John Jacques
