After running fine for some seemingly random amount of time, mysqld stops accepting \
connections and cpu usage shoots up to 99%. All connections are through unix domain \
sockets only.

Also mysql dumped core (and was restarted by safe_mysqld) approximately 2 hours \
before it stopped accepting connections. This is the third time this has happened in \
a week of (heavy) use, dozens of connections/second. Core dump was caused by \
segmentation violation.
