This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
Hello everyone.
We found the problem ourselves.
For data replication, one has to open Firewall on Port 389 _and_ 524 in
both directions.
Additionally, Novell has little mistake in the Online Documentation of
the ndsconfig command:
The command that worked for us, was:
./ndsconfig add -t PORTAL -n "PORTAL.INFRASERV" -a
"cn=admin.ou=PORTAL.o=INFRASERV"
This added our server to the existing landscape as a read/write
replication.
The novell documentation wants you to specify the server context as
follows:
-n "cn=<hostname>-NDS.O=<Organization>"
The command then does not extract the data right but takes the
parameters right away and tries to add a host named "cn=<hostname>" to
the Organization "O=<Organization>".
This is obviously BS and i hate Novell now forever for having to spend 2
days of work for this finding.
Thanks anyway to all, hope this helps some other persons as well.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Schindewolf
