Erik,

we have one instance per host (and the same problem ;-)), so we changed one 
line (24, in function zentr) in /etc/init.d/sapr3:
SERVICE="/usr/sap/$SAPSID/SYS/exe/run/$1sap"
instead of involving $ADMHOME.

Of course you may symlink /sapmnt/$SAPSID/exe/startsap to 
$ADMHOME/$1sap_$HOSTNAME_$ZENTRNR (e.g./home/nw4adm/startsap_nw4host_00) 
instead ;-)

The starting of multiple instances will work too, but I can't test it ;-)
