Subject:    GUI connect error after upgrade LinuxGUI

Hey SAP-fans,

Im running the WAS 6.10 test-drive since many months with no problems.

But after upgrading from LinuxGUI 6.10 to version 6.20r6 I got some
problems:

- first I uninstalled the old GUI with the commands
  rpm -e PlatinGUI...
  rpm -e PlatinGX...

- then I installed the new GUI with
  java -jar PlatinGUI-Linux-620r6.jar

  The installation was successfully.

- I deleted the old script-links guistart and guilogon in /usr/bin and made
new links with
  the new file locations in directory /opt/PlatinGUI/6.20rev6/bin.

 
Now after starting the guistart-script with

  guistart conn=/H/steve/S/3218

following error message appeared:

Error: partner not reached (host steve, service 3218)

The environment variable PLATINHOME is set correctly to
/opt/PlatinGUI/6.20rev6
and PATH to $PLATINHOME/bin.
