For Linux (other platforms generally have less capability):

The console's choice of font isn't much affected by terminfo - it's possible
(with some research) to add a parameter to LILO to select different VGA modes
(if your video card supports it).  But there's not much standardization on text
modes above 25x80.

The font itself is done on Linux with setfont, e.g.,
	setfont default8x16
