I don't know, if this is the correct mailinglist for such infos. Tried
the muttbug-script to report the bug, but unfortunately the bugtracker
for mutt doesn't seem to work at the moment. Don't know if this is a
temporary problem, or if the bugtracker-software at
http://bugs.guug.de/
isn't used anymore.
The typo in the manpage is in the following part:
smime_encrypt_with
Type: string
Default: ""
This sets the algorithm that should be used for encryption. Valid
choices are "des", "des3", "rc2-40", "rc2-64", "rc2-128". If unset
"3des" (TripleDES) is used. (S/MIME only)
The suggested encryption default encryption type is '3des'.
Unfortunately it should be 'des3'. openssl doesn't give a very helpful
error, so most people might think this is an incompatibility between
mutt and openssl.
Even more unfortunate is the default, mutt uses, if smime_encrypt_with
isn't set. It just uses '' (empty string), so the openssl-command
doesn't work either.
Well. Just for your information. If anybody has the same problem he
might find this entry. :)
