MUMPS Programmer/Software Applications Engineer III
Job Description:
Position supports the Healthcare Solutions Operation. Under limited
supervision, performs analysis and coding in the design and implementation
of software , applications for computer-based systems. Troubleshoots
software problems. Provides solutions to hardware problems related to
software or systems problems. Contributes to the design of projects.
Supports activities with the customer and provides input to project
management and customer requests. Provides input to documentation and
recommends changes and/or enhancements to systems. Is responsible for
meeting goals within time constraints. Provides guidance to less experienced
staff. Exercises judgment within , defined procedures and practices to
determine appropriate action. Recommends solutions to problems related to
software or computer systems. Normally receives general instruction on
routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments. Contributes to the ,
preparation and presentation of results to clients and the professional
community. Ensures design decisions are evaluated analytically and in a
systematic manner in accordance with approved technical approaches. May
interface with users to define system requirements and/or necessary
modifications.

Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years experience in a
related area. Experience with project management preferred

Required Skills:
Must have experience with MUMPS programming and requires a comprehensive
knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of system and software
design and engineering as well as the ability to recognize, analyze, and
determine alternatives and take action to correct problem areas. Analysis,
design, programming, debugging, and modification of computer programs for
commercial or end user applications such as medical information systems.
Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of
applications using MUMPS programming language and technologies.
