Someone put some time into choosing the name "Firefox". The instant
mental image is a 
flaming red fox in motion. The name connotes both excitement and
cleverness. It even 
includes a plosive sound, the x. You can't get much better.

If Firefox were called Muffin, would it have been so successful?
