I have installed Linux 2.0.21-486, apache v2.0b2, msql 2.0b1, PHP/FI 2.0b9.
After following the discussions in the msql-list for awhile, I decided to
test the mSQL. But first, I want to point out that I went ahead and got
ahold of Postgres95 previously, due to the limitations inherent in mSQL
v1.0 -- now that I see what mSQL v2.0 has to offer, I may just scrap
Postgres95 and all it's bloat.
After running the "cachetest", "killer", and "rtest" tests (which ran OK
once I ran them from the right "tests" directory 8^| ) work great. I
checked with GREP and found out that there is NO TEST on an UPDATE
statement using a CHAR field. Hmmm maybe one could be added ???
I then went to check out the sample application "Bookmarks" after running
the "misc/setup_www" script. The user authentication facility worked
great, but when I tried to create a bookmark, BOOM! It turns out the
bookmark URL's are looking for a utility in cgi-bin called nph-w3-msql,
when the installation script is called simply "w3-msql". You need to check
the files "bookmarks.html" and "delete.html" and just search on "nph-" to
fix it.
