no luck. I already had it, but just to be sure, I re-installed mpfull.
Same result. I can see asf's by http links, but if I read an asx, I get the
save as window.

Go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/download/allplayers.asp

and make sure to have users click on the one that supports Netscape plugins.

It reads:
"Microsoft Windows Media Player for Windows 95, Windows 98, and
Windows NT 4.0. Includes plugin support for Netscape browsers.
This version is required for use with NetShow Theater Server.
Please be aware that the download time is about 36 minutes over a 28.8
modem.
The file size is 4.2M."

and it's URL is:

http://mschus.www.conxion.com/msdownload/mplayer/5.2/rtw/x86/en/mpfull.exe

I had the player that installs as "mpie4ful.exe" instead of the one with
plug-in
support for Netscape. I un-installed the "mpie4ful" version and installed
the "mpfull" version and I got the embedded player window. You might want
to
as that your users use current browser versions, too so that this type of
problem
will not happen.
