Dear Bill,
Have you used VIDTOASF to convert an AVI file to ASF before? If you've
done so, you're 95% of the way there. To add URLs, events, markers and
file information to an ASF that's been converted from .AVI or .MOV,
you'll need to create a script file. Just go into Notepad or your
favorite text editor, and type the following. [The parts in brackets
are my comments. Also, note that the only section you'd need just to do
the URL flips you ask about is the Start_Script_Table to
End_Script_Table part. I just added the other part in case anyone is
wondering how to add file information and markers.]
Title: title of your ASF file
Author: author name
Copyright: (c) 1997 your company name
Rating: rating [G, PG, whatever]
Description: description in detail
Start_Script_Table
[time with hour:minute:second.fraction] 00:00:10.1 URL
http://www.microsoft.com/netshow
00:00:30.3 URL http://www.microsoft.com/netshow&framename [this one
targets a specific frame]
00:00:47.2 Eventname Parameter [this is how you would stream script
events]
End_Script_Table
Start_Marker_Table
[time with hour:minute:second.fraction] 00:00:10.1 Marker description
one [This is like a book mark]
00:00:30.3 Marker description two
00:01:10.2 Marker description three
End_Marker Table
Now, save the file as whatever you want (e.g., script.txt). Then go to
DOS, and to the directory containing your source files and type the
following:
VIDTOASF -in aviname.avi -audiofile wavfilename.wav -out newasfname.asf
-leadtime 5000 -script script.txt
Then push enter and it should work like a charm. If it doesn't, let us
know.
Cheers!
Nancy
