Hi,Jesoph.
I can¡¯t understand your Qn2,can you detail the topology further?
How can R1 both receive a network LSA and originate one?
Best regards,
Jacky Ping

Hi,
As it looks like mostly R2 will not add the network route(inter area) for the summary \
lsa it recvs from R1, because it already has a Intra area route to the same
network , so it should not generate the summ lsa for the network back to area 2.
Suggest you verify !

Subject: Receiving Self-Orignated Summary 3 LSAs
Hi All,
Consider this topology:
[Area 0] - - - - R1 - - - - [Area 2] - - - - R2 - - - - [Area 0]
When R1 receives a Network LSA from an internal router in Area 2, it \
summarises it into Area 0. This Summary LSA is seen by R2 since it has an interface \
in the backbone.
Qn 1) Will R2 import this Summary LSA into Area 2?
Qn 2) If R1 comes across a self-originated Summary LSA for the same Network \
in Area2 with a lower cost, what should it do?
Regards,
Joseph Placid
