Subject:    Unable to delete pending certificate request

I am using the ICEnroll::createPKCS7File() method to create a new CSR.  When
I open the Certificates MMC snap-in, I can see the pending request inside
the REQUESTS certificate store.  Using this MMC snap-in, I appear to be able
to delete the pending request.  However, if I try to create another request
using the same certificate common name as the pending request I just
deleted, I get an error that indicates that the object already exists.

How do I go about deleting a pending certificate request?  I tried using
ICEnroll4::removePendingRequest() and this always returns an error
indicating that the object cannot be found.
