What miro means by the "and right key usage" is as follows:
1. Open IE
2. Go to Tools-Internet Options->Content->Certificates
3. Select the cert in question
4. Click Advanced
5. Make sure "Secure Email" is checked.

HTH,
Soumik.

Outlook Express list

Hi, Miro

First of all, I would like to thank you for the answer.

You mean that the certificate must have a field like this:

E = bogado@adv.oabsp.org.br
CN = ABILIO DIAMANTINO FRANCISCO BOGADO
OU = OAB-SP
O = Advogado
L = Pinheiros
S = SP
C = BR

The email decribed above is the same email that's in outlook account.

Any other ideas?

Lilian.

You must have email address from otulook account in certificate DN (like
E=mail@company.com) and right key usage.

Subject: Off Topic Question - Certificate doesn't show up in Outlook Expre
ss list

Hi all,

Has anyone already faced the problem with certificates that shows up in IE
certificates list but doens't show
up in Outlook Express list?

Some of our users are having this kind of problem. By now, I guess that the
problem occurs
with IE 5.x users only(not all of them).

We send them a link to download their signed certificate, using xenroll
AcceptPKCS7 method.
The key pair were previously generated also by xenroll. The certificate was
signed using OpenSSL.
Apparently, the user doesn't have any problem to download it because when he
clicks
>> Tools >> Internet Options >> Content >> Certificates, his signed
certificate is there
in the personal certificate list. But when he tries to associate it with his
email account in
Outlook Express, it is not there.

Does anyone know how can I prevent it from happening or where can I get more
information
about that?

Thanks in advance.

Lilian

p.s.: Sorry about my poor english
