Hi Leonardo,
There is a CAPICOM@discuss.microsoft.com discussion alias for CAPICOM
questions. Click http://discuss.microsoft.com/archives/capicom.html to
join.
The signed object returns the entire PKCS 7, not just the signature.
PKCS 7 contains a lot more information that is necessary to later verify
the signature. One thing you can do to reduce the size by a bit is to
use detached signature, in which case the content itself will not be
included in the PKCS 7.
Hope this helps.
Daniel Sie

That was really a great idea to develop this COM, lots of thanks.
I agree that is very easy to sign a message using CAPICOM.
I'm writing an application that needs to save just the signature of a
message, I
mean the encrypted hash.
I used the method Sign as follows
s =3D Signobj.Sign(Signer, False, CAPICOM_ENCODE_BINARY)
but when I checked the content It was about 430 bytes long (I was hoping
something about 20 bytes (the hash's size)).
Did I do something wrong? How is the format of the file created?
Thanks in advance,
Leonardo Martins
