Hi All!

In "CertSrv.h" written
// Values Under "CertSvc\Configuration\<CAName>":
...
#define wszREGDURATIONPERIOD         TEXT("ValidityPeriod")
#define wszREGDURATIONUNITS          TEXT("ValidityPeriodUnits")
...
// Value strings for "CertSvc\Configuration\<CAName>\ValidityPeriod":
#define wszDURATIONUNITSYEARS   TEXT("Years")
#define wszDURATIONUNITSMONTHS  TEXT("Months")
#define wszDURATIONUNITSWEEKS   TEXT("Weeks")
#define wszDURATIONUNITSDAYS    TEXT("Days")
#define wszDURATIONUNITSHOURS   TEXT("Hours")
#define wszDURATIONUNITSMINUTES TEXT("Minutes")
#define wszDURATIONUNITSSECONDS TEXT("Seconds")

ValidityPeriodUnits (DWORD) - number of units in ValidityPeriod.

And i have some more questions about using CertSvc:

What troubles will appear when i change CSP in CertSrv from "Microsoft Base
Cryptographic Provider v1.0"(128-bit Update installed) to "Microsoft
Enhanced Cryptographic Provider v1.0" for example?

Clients enrolled 1024-bit keys also under "Microsoft Base Cryptographic
Provider v1.0"(128-bit Update installed). From recent discussion i cann't
understood what difference in Base (128 updated) and Enhanced if key length
1024-bit enough?

Somebody have the experience in using certificate enrolled using Enhanced
provider? Have it more functionality (not key length) than Base provider
(128-bit upgraded)?

Thanks in advance.
Best regards.
Igor.

You should be able to set it under
HKLM\System\Current Control Set\Services\CertSrv\Configuration\...
I think the registry value is validity period or some such thing.

OFF-TOPIC

Hi all,

Does anyone know if it possible to set an expiration period for certificates
issued by Microsoft Certificate Services? Currently all certificates have a
one-year period of validity, and I would like to change this.

Thanks in advance, and best regards,

Augusto
