Is there documentation somewhere that describes how MS requires these
"extensions" to be imbedded in Certs?

The W2K login certificates have extensions in them that login requires (so
it can resolve your domain+username).  If your 3rd party cert issuer can
include this, then yes.

If I've already had a user certificate issued by Netscape certificate server
or Verisign, can I use it to login to W2000? if yes, what do I need to
configure to accomplish this?
