Microsoft as they impinge upon discussion in this list remind me very much
of Lucia from the books E. F. Benson

That is; very annoying and much spoken of behind her back on topics, but
undoubtably (and even more annoying) queen of the roost, and welcomed for
whatever information she can provide when she chooses to give it.

One who falls out with Lucia, needs to get "in" again somehow, but Lucia
will be forced into revealing nothing.  She is the master of all double
thought.
