I have seen traces in which three commands were chained together by the SMB
client but don't remember any cases in which four were (although I think of
at least one case where four would have been useful for optimal
performance). Certainly my OS/2 client had some cases where it would
generate three chained commands. Although it has been a long time -
SessionSetupX, TreeConnectX followed by getAttr (or OpenX) seemed to be the
common cases. I agree with Paul that OpenX/ReadX is very useful too
(writeX chained with SMBclose would have been useful to avoid having to use
the older SMB but I don't remember seeing WriteX chained with close).
