Yes, 128bit are secure enough for credit card info, your addresses etc., 
provided that the intended reciever is trustworthy, of course.

The SSL / S/MIME scheme has some inherent weaknesses, if you try to 
protect yourself from powerful organisations like the U.S. government, 
but that's surely no concern for credit cards (all your financial data 
belong to them anyways :-( ).
