Here's a thought - its an ugly work around but should work.

If your data source is small - like an in-memory datasource
then try this: create an additional attribute called "rank",
sort your data using javascript so your integer values are
compared correctly. The javascript sets the rank value
for each item. Your XUL code can then display based on
this extra, hidden attribute.
