Sorry, but just seconds after posting I realised, that it was my fault and 
immediately withdrew my posting again. I guess the deletion didn't propagate 
properly through all servers that already might have gotten a hold of it :-(

What happened was, that the d/l'ed file actually was a zip one, but lazy as I 
am I used the previous version one here as a name template during d/l and only 
adjusted the one changed digit in its version number.
What I missed though was that the old one here was the wpi *.exe, while the 
new one was still stored in its same named zip archive, which now had been 
wrongly turned over to *.exe.
