While we're on the subject, has anything more been done since the original
15-hour hack?

More to the point, has anyone figured out what path to take so that
cryptozilla development doesn't diverge radically from Mozilla/Communicator?

There are some real basic questions here. In SSL, for example, has anyone
figured out how to reconcile SSLeay's BIOs with Mozilla's NSPR I/O?

Further down the line, I didn't see an ASN.1 library in Mozilla's code (I
may have missed it). I imagine that SSLeay's ASN.1 code will have to be
isolated, so it'll be easy for Netscape to insert their internal library.

The goal, I believe, should be to have a plain-Mozilla that can be easily
patched with either SSLeay or Netscape's internal stuff. This won't be easy
without Netscape's help, but if we don't aim for that then Cryptozilla,
Mozilla and Communicator will really be three distinct programs. I don't
think anybody wants that.
