I can't speak for the installer, but I updated everything mono-related
in Fink today to use 1.1.11 and everything seems to be working
swimmingly.  I also figured out the last problem I had with
MonoDevelop -- turned out to be mozilla (and by extension, gecko#)
that was breaking.  Pointed gecko-sharp and monodevelop at firefox's
dylibs instead and monodevelop now works (yay!)

All that's left is to find out why mod_mono doesn't work.  Oh, and
monodevelop's boo component doesn't seem to disappear properly:
