my point is you dont install soemthing to your hard drive blindly right?

at a minimum boot from cd and of course read the README or install notes

or ask a good friend to read the readme for you

I'm pretty sure its not a brick. He is booting from a cd and moblin is
unable to recognize the amd processor. moblin is designed for the atom
processor.

Subject: Re: [Moblin Dev] installation problem

Hi

I have installed onto a USB drive. My wife has my HP Atom based netbook and
will not be back untill Monday nght so I have not tried it yet.

It sound like you may have been lucky
my good friend Morris told me yesterday he saw somewhere that the install
only works on Atom and another duall core procssor. If your chip is not
supported and it started to format your drive you may have a brick instead
of netbook. Check the docs and maybe Morris will share where he got his info

By the way my boss just bought an Asus netbook but his has an Atom processor

Have you tried just running from CD if this no work no luck

I have a AMD Athalon X2 based laptop I wanted to try booting from but it
refuses to let mme in the BIOS

Since Intel just bought Wind River WRS may be helping Intel push the mobile
linux distros BUT
ifso I doubt they will help their friends at AMD you think?
