That should be supported, but I suspect it is not.
If the image you have uses mobile-basic-flash (the home screen is HTML) then it \
checks a gconf key: /desktop/hildon/htmlhomeplugin/onlyshowin_filter
The UME guys said they recently swapped out the original home screen for a more \
optimized python-based one. Not sure of the details. You might ask on the \
ubuntu-mobile@lists.ubuntu.com mailing list or #ubuntu-mobile IRC channel.
