There exist two ways round that problem.
Compile a kernel yourself and apply the that patch from Klaus Stengel 
you find here:

Or you can use that patch from the tracker:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3306829&group_id=5776&atid=305776
apply it to the mjpegtools.  So the mjpegtools use a helper library, to 
access the card.
Either way should work. I guess that patching the mjpegtools is the 
easier way.
There is currently no easy way around the problem.
