i checked the config.log file and i found out that one of the c programs that
tests for the size of the integer types fails because it is unable to open a
file "/tmp/conftestval" for writing.

$ ls -ahld /tmp
drwxr-xr-x   25 procyon  Administ        0 Jun 11 21:37 /tmp

/tmp is rwxr-xr-x and this cannot be changed :(

i just changed every occurence of "/tmp/conftestval" in the configure-script to
"conftestval" and it worked fine ...

i now have another problem but i will open a new thread for this.
Thanks for the tip with the config.log-file

Bye, Tilman
