Hallo William Deegan,

There are patches pending on
the binutils list to add x64 PE support to the assembler and linke

The patches for x64 PE support are no longer pending and supporting
assembler, linker, resource compiler, dlltool, and other utilities. They
are applied at the 20.9.06 to the code base of binutils. (see
http://sourceware.org/ml/binutils/2006-09/msg00190.html).

There is also a first (mostly working) gcc cross-compiler port of version
4.1.1 ,I posted it to the mingw developer group. The first possible branch
of gcc may including this target will be the 4.3 branch, as I assume.

The currently pending issues are main issues remaining are:
        - The import libraries and the initial runtiume header files for
x86_64-mingw64.
        - The finialization and reviewing of the gcc port
        - The check-in on the head-branch of the gcc

Regards,
 i.A. Kai Tietz
