Some parts of glibc already have been ported to Win32 by the GnuWin32 project.
MinGW cannot use it because of licensing issues. Others have attempted a replacement
C runtime. Using Newlib sources would most likely be the best choice. You
have to be careful with replacing the C runtime and using the W32API at the
same time.
