It is difficult to understand what is the purpose of the "middleman". However, from \
your own description the problem lies somewhere in your middleman since without it \
everything seems to work in order. Therefore, this is not a bug...

I suggest

* Try version 2.0 (I am not sure, but there may have been some issues with SFTP)
* Debug your code - the whole "middleman" seems suspect - if you are trying to \
"bridge" some SSH session then it takes more than what I see in the code - especially \
for SFTP/SCP...
