That's crazy. AFAIR Apple wanted to patent mouse pointer idea...

And coming back to repligard's xml related patent issues.
I was talking (and drinking beer :) with lawyer form Microsoft
( I have never thought that "human" people  works there ;) and we talked 
about Microsoft patents and repligard. The only solution is to ask 
US Patent Office to check Microsoft' rights to xml ( repligard like) technology.
