I just wrestled with some problems for a while, before I re-read the 
documentation for Apache::Session::Wrapper and realized my cookie 
wasn't being sent unless I added

   use_cookie => 1

to the arguments passed to HTML::Mason::ApacheHandler->new.

That should probably be added to the example in the documentation for 
MasonX::Request::WithApacheSession.
