Hi all,

My external CD/DVD reader, lost from flight luggage, belonging to a Sony 
laptop, needs replacing.
Since both laptop and CD/DVD reader are now obsolete, USB looks the best 
bet to me and I'd prefer to replace it with a DVD+R/-RW reader/burner.

Can folks offer any advice on USB reader/burners - Linux-compatible 
makes, hardware problems, software problems (MDK 10.2, LE2005), etc.?
I've not been able to find anything directly useful on Marc or Google.
